Floating Houses
Combining the latest construction techniques with advanced boat building
methods, a new concept in living afloat is creating a buzz in the construction
industry in Europe.
The external walls are built with a custom honeycomb core
laminated under vacuum with glass fibre roving and advanced epoxies giving the
same resistance to weather as modern boat hulls. The houses are offered as a
turnkey solution to include heating, plumbing, electrics, and interior
outfitting to choice. A highly effective heat pump uses the ambient
temperature of the surrounding water to provide heat throughout the house. The
waste water is recovered in the pontoon in a bio-mechanical system to the
level classed as reusable by EU Standards. Standard connections are provided
for linking to shore/marina power and water supplies.
Houses are available in a range of standard designs or may be custom built in
association with the company's designers. Some examples of design concepts are
